Its the term used in Bitch Planet, the future space prison comic, for women who commit the crimes of being too loud, too angry, too old, too smart, too unfeminine for a deeply misogynist society to tolerate. Now it is a rallying cry for the real world. The Stripper and the Divine: A burlesque tribute to Image Comics! is proud to stand and declare ourselves non-compliant now and forever. Were bringing acts about war, beauty, pop-star gods and goddesses, self-love, and even a big space cat that talks! From space operas to Westerns, comedy to romance, horror to high fantasy, Image and its creators dare to be diverse, queer, beautiful, weird, and wonderful. So do we.
