Wilderness First Aid Two-Day Training
Gain valuable tools and knowledge to handle a wilderness first aid emergency in this 16 hour, two-day intensive course. This class focuses on learning and practicing skills that can be used in wilderness scenarios, and covers the following first aid situations: patient assessment, shock and bleeding, head and spinal injuries, wounds, musculo-skeletal injuries, and heat and cold extremes. The class is primarily indoors, but also includes up to a half day of outdoor scenarios practicing first aid skills. Successful completion of this class includes a Wilderness First Aid certificate, which is good for 3 years. This class is taught by Bobbie Foster, who has been involved in outdoor recreation education for almost 30 years. Bobbie worked as a whitewater canoe instructor, backpacking leader, and first aid instructor until she started her own company, Foster Calm, in 2001 that focuses on teaching wilderness first aid and safety.
