Paper Cities
Paper Cities is an affront to the digital age of information, it refuses to reveal all the facts. Like a book with many missing pages the story can be pieced together archeologically, forensically or later in dreams. Paper Cities disregards notions of a well-made play; blockbuster, dance theatre and even puppet show to reveal performers working out the thorny eternally disconnecting problems of human development. Pulling myriad experiences together to create a moving poem, a grocery list of ideas, thoughts and feelings about home, cities, the past, paper, and what it may have once meant to be human. Performed with puppets, animated objects, original film, live music and sound design by Kristopher Apple. Directed by Liam Clancy.
