A Coupla' Crackpot Crones present "MOMS!"
Terry Baum, slightly world-renowned lesbian playwright, and Carolyn Myers, pioneer funny feminist, are A Coupla' Crackpot Crones. MOMS! -- their new show especially for Mother's Day, delivers sketch comedy and improvisation about mothers and daughters for anyone who's ever been or ever had a mother. Moms -- Can't live with 'em, wouldn't be alive without 'em! Sketches include a consciousness-raising session for two misunderstood fairy tale step-mothers; and Daughter discovering Mom in the arms of another woman. The audience will get a chance to sing along with "Twelve Days," a song about an agonizingly long vacation spent with Mom. To honor the deepest spirit of this holiday, The Crones will reveal the shocking truth of the Patriarchy's co-optation of the radical roots of Mothers' Day.
A Coupla' Crackpot Crones have delighted, outraged, and inspired audiences at Women on the Way and National Queer Arts Festivals in San Francisco -- and colleges, cafes and community centers in New York, California, Oregon and New Mexico. They are thrilled to be delving deeper into the meaning of Mothers' Day.
