Adam Winkler: Gun Control Through History
From the Founding Fathers and the Second Amendment to the origins of the Klan (ironically, as a gun-control organization), the debate over guns always has generated controversy. In the tradition of Gideon's Trumpet, constitutional law expert Adam Winkler, author of Gunfight, examines America's centuries-long political battle over gun control and the right to bear arms using the 2008 case District of Columbia v. Heller (which invalidated a law banning handguns in the nation's capital) as a springboard. Presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life with Elliott Bay Book Company. Series media sponsorship provided by PubliCola. Series supported by The Boeing Company Charitable Trust and the RealNetworks Foundation.
