Heartbeat

Termed "gentle" by his sister Glendora, Paul has a good life. The somewhat mentally-impaired hardware store owner is well liked and seems to have everything but a woman with whom to share his life. In walks Angela, who captures his heart with a dubious story about having a heartbeat countdown on her arm that only she can see. Alcohol-soaked and depressed Glendora, prone to outrageous rants against anything that presents itself (especially her treacherous ex, Dirk), is convinced that Paul is being manipulated by Angela and possibly Dirk. She is determined to put a stop to whatever plan they have for Paul and embarks on a ruinous journey that only exacerbates her problems, strains her relationship with Paul to the breaking point and threatens her very freedom.
