Hazzard Free Farm Tour
Hazzard Free Farm is welcoming The Sugar Beet Food Co-op and friends to spend a day exploring the farm and learning about heirloom grains. About 2 hours from Chicago, near Rockford, IL, Hazzard Free Farm places sustainability first and foremost. They are proud to bring you a wide variety of high-quality heirloom grains grown in the organic tradition and stone ground using age-old techniques. They believe that the beauty of the local food movement is transparency and are delighted to have you visit the farm.
Saturday August 22nd
Tentative Schedule
10:00 am Arrive at Hazzard Free Farm
10:15 am Walking tour of the main farm
11:15 am Travel to the Small Grains Nursery (6 miles away)
11:30 am Farm to Table Brunch (see menu below)
1:00 pm Tour of Small Grains Nusery
1:30 pm Work project (hand harvest heirloom grains, harvest garlic)
2:30 pm Purchase some grains to take home
3:00 pm Departure
A finalized schedule will be posted at least two weeks prior to the event.
Space is limited so purchase your tickets in advance!

$35 per person (non-member)
