May Day! May Day! A New Music Marathon
For our second annual May Day! May Day! marathon, a 10-hour performer-driven celebration of contemporary American music, artistic director/producer Paul Taub is joined by three new curators-eclectic composer and pianist Wayne Horvitz; pianist Cristina Valdes, whose work is a rich marriage of 'uptown' and 'downtown' sensibilities; and Jarrad Powell, composer and artistic director of Gamelan Pacificaall local musicians who performed in 2010's marathon. Featuring 25 sets by local ensembles and soloists, the full 2011 schedule will be announced in spring. Presented by Town Hall. Program supported by The Boeing Company Charitable Trust and the Aaron Copland Fund.
