Standing out at Pageants and Festivals with Jo Weldon
Grab a snack and bring your questions for this presentation! As the coordinator of judging at the Miss Exotic World/Burlesque Hall of Fame Pageant, Jo Weldon has heard it all. Based on conversations with the judges and contestants before and after the pageants, as well as her decades of backstage while performing in exotic dance and burlesque, and having conducted scores of interviews with performers, producers, and burlesque legends, Jo shares tips and hints on performance and on how to project winning attitude and ability. She will also discuss the characteristics of performers who are hired by show producers who come to her student showcases, and why show producers say some people get hired over and over again. Jo is also the author of The Burlesque Handbook, which will be available for purchase and signing throughout the festival.
