DOUBLE BILL: MEMORIES OF SUBURBIA & GHOSTLAND CINEMA

Tickets £12/£10

A solo performance by Will Dickie about the nature of memory, place and existence.

In the last years of her life, Nan and I spoke about our home, Hampton: a town in deepest suburbia. She said people move here to start a family, or meet their maker. I imagine this setting as a threshold. At night I danced in the shadows cast by Hampton's well organised street lights, searching for something beneath the suburb's comfort and shelter...

'A beautifully tender, wistful solo.'

**** (GLASGOW HERALD)

"fiercely imaginative and stunningly original."

Adrian Howells, Live Artist

GHOSTLAND CINEMA, 8.30 pm
mingbeast (UK/Spain)

Spinning between crime-scene-investigation, misguided therapy session and cack-handed séance for doomed starlet April Six, mingbeast present a cryptic and chaotic exploration of memory, violence and cinema.

"This was performance at its most imaginative and stimulating best"

Michaela Butter, Director at Embrace Arts

"Part film noir, part documentary, part haunted house mystery, it carries echoes of many things  Eyes Without A Face, Mulholland Drive, Celine and Julie Go Boating, Vertigo  but builds a world entirely its own, cut with a ghoulish dry wit. It's designed and performed with exquisite craft and precision: there is a wildness underneath that keeps threatening to break through"

Jonathan Wakeman, Director Loco Film Festival

Monday 9 March, 7.30pm

SLEEPWALK COLLECTIVE
(UK/Spain)

"In an hour of troubling intimacy, Sleepwalk Collective chop up and replay the iconography of B-movies and early cinema in a joyous and desperate attempt to re-work cinematic and cultural clichés into something heartfelt and profound. An unsettlingly languid but hauntingly touching display of live-art tragi-comic stand-up"
