A Magic Chicago Special Presentation: Tina Lenert, Mike Caveney & Ardan James
Please join Robert and Benjamin along with Jeanette Andrews for a special Magic Chicago presentation:
Monday, August 9 at 7:30 pm
Magic Chicago at City Lit Theater 1020 West Bryn Mawr Chicago, Illinois
Appearing on stage:
Tina Lenert has taken the arts of Mime and Magic -- which are universally appealing and crosses all barriers of language and age and created several acts blending these two art forms. She is best known for combining silent comedy with magic to produce a most unusual and enchanting act titled "Maid in Heaven" in which a sad and frumpy cleaning lady is magically transformed and finds happiness.
A regular performer and life member of Hollywood's Magic Castle, Tina was voted Stage Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts. She is also a recipient of the Siegfried and Roy Bronze Lion Award.
A performance by Mike Caveney is unique. Each of his original routines is perfectly suited to his dry comedic wit. He doesn't tell jokes but you won't stop laughing and when something amazing happens, it isn't just a trick, it's a miracle. Mike's talents have taken him from Japan to Russia, Monte Carlo to Borneo, China, throughout Europe and most of the 50 States. He was named Stage Magician of the Year by the Magic Castle in Hollywood and the Hollywood Reporter described him as "...one of the funniest magicians in America."
On television Mike has appeared on Disney's New Vaudevillians, A&E's Story of Magic, FOX Family's Magic on the Edge and NBC's The World's Greatest Magic special.
Ardan James started as a ventriloquist but found that neither he nor the dummy were verbally funny...so he taught himself pantomime. While completing his degree in the media arts and a minor in education, he worked in a magic store. It was a few years later that he put together his favorite areas of each of the arts, and with audience participation, developed his award-winning act.
Europe, Japan, Australia, and Canada are a few of the countries he's traveled to, in addition to the 48 contiguous states. He has been performing professionally for over 15 years now, writing all his own material. He continues to create new material and programs.
