About our Corset Events:
Our annual fundraising events help to build the Antique Corset Museum and create a unique and enjoyable opportunity for the community to get dressed up and enjoy the elegance of the corset.
Once we have raised enough funds for the museum, we look forward to installing and planning our exhibits. Melanie Talkington's collection ranges from the 18th century - 1960 with over 300 antique corsets and underpinnings.
Previous funding from our events has gone towards creating the museum space and building cases for our travelling antique exhibitions as well as permanent museum fixtures.
Melanie has built a business from her devotion to historical corsetry and enjoys designing corsets for the modern woman. The museum brings her full circle back to her passion for antique corsets and sharing in the corset community. It is a dream come true to see the museum become a reality and to work closely with world renowned museums on their exhibits.
The Grand Corset Ball is the first event held in the US and is costly in itself. By fundraising and selling tickets, we aim to create a spectacular event, and also bring the dream of the Antique Corset Museum even closer to reality.
