THE WOES
The music of The Woes is a stew of Delta blues and early Country, bluegrass and New Orleans marching band music, on banjo, harmonica, accordion, French Horn and organ. The five piece hails from New York City. Frontman Osei Essed's inimitable voice is sweetly controlled or as frightening as (the early blues preacher) Blind Willie Johnson. Cicero Jones is a French Horn player and gospel organist. Ronen Ben completes the frontline on accordion and blues harp. General admission. $5. Get tickets at the South Haven Art Center, 800.838.3006, www.brownpapertickets.com, or at the door after 7 pm. Doors open at 7 pm.
