HARDLINE DRIVE, Jazzman Jeff Justman
Lake Orion, MI - HARDLINE DRIVE came together in 2006, and has experienced phenomenal success in a short amount of time. The members of the band bring with them years of experience in both traditional and contemporary styles of bluegrass, with a focus of producing original material. The unique sound of HardLine Drive is the result of a wide variety of musical influences. While anchored in the tradition of bluegrass music, you'll also hear shades of the blues, jazz, and rock-n- roll in their sound. In the fall of 2008, HardLine Drive released their first CD, "Gonna Be Alright," and it was met with great enthusiasm, both regionally and nationally. Lead singer and songwriter, Toni Erskine, has been the driving force behind the band's material, along with Greg Fuson adding flavor with melody arrangements. The combination has been nothing short of a musical powerhouse that helps define this band's personality and direction. The title track of the CD speaks to the spirit or the age, a message of hope and encouragement when times seem hard. No doubt the music of HardLine Drive has touched the hearts of many, and continues to reflect the personality of its members. 2008 was an exciting year for HardLine Drive as they had the opportunity to perform in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia. The reception they received was overwhelming, and has opened the door for them to return, as fans throughout these regions continue to buzz about their music. The members of HardLine Drive, Toni Erskine, Greg Fuson, Dave Russell, Danielle Smith, and Davin Jeffers are excited about the new material in the works, and anticipate another successful year filled with opportunities to share their stories, lives, and music with appreciative audiences wherever they are found.
