Description
L.A. DERBY DOLLS HOSTS SCORCHING RIVALRY
IN ALL GIRL BANKED TRACK ROLLER DERBY ACTION MAY 30

2008 Champs Tough Cookies Defend Title Against Sirens;
Tickets On Sale Now For Saturday May 30 Event

LOS ANGELES  The fast, furious and fearless L.A. Derby Dolls (www.derbydolls.com/la), Southern Californias premiere all-female, banked track roller derby league, rolls into summer with a much-anticipated re-match between the Sirens and reigning champions, the Tough Cookies.

The two all-star heavy teams will face off for the first time since Novembers nail-biting championship bout. Two thousand breathless derby fans hung onto the edge of their seats as the underdog
Cookies claimed victory by only two points in the last jam.

Now, the Sirens are pulling up their fishnets and planning revenge. The 2007 champions new captains recently led their girls in blue to a close victory against freshman team, the Varsity Brawlers. The officers will patrol the track again, anchored by three lightening-speed jammers: Kung Pow Tina, V. Lee and Mila Minute. Paired with crushing blockers Killo Kitty and P.I.T.A., the Sirens form a fierce force on the banked track.

The Cookies havent skated in a game since January, where they narrowly defeated the rejuvenated Fight Crew. Cookies captain Iron Maiven and co-captain Gori Spelling are eager to reclaim their dominance. The Cookies major crusher Krissy Krash, white-hot jammer Laguna Beyatch, and blockers Kelly Kaboom and LEGacy will show the Sirens their victory was no fluke.

Nationally renowned, the L.A. Derby Dolls are one of only five leagues in the U.S. playing roller derby on a banked track. Like most modern female roller derby leagues, the Derby Dolls are volunteer-run and give back to the community that has embraced them. Honored as a Treasure of Los Angeles by the Central City Association, the Derby Dolls also operate a Junior Derby League for girls ages 8-17 and recently participated in Big Sunday.

The action on the track will get your adrenaline pumping and the action on our live music stage will get your=2
0feet moving as the Tulsa Skull Swingers (http://www.myspace.com/thetulsaskullswingers) perform at halftime. No Derby Dolls event would be complete without the unique Vendor Village, featuring hand-crafted art, jewelry and clothes, food from Garage Pizza and Hot Dog on a Stick and glorious beer from Tecate and Alexs Bar.

Founded in September 2003, the L.A. Derby Dolls are the premiere all-female, banked-track, quad-skating, rock 'n' roller derby league in the Southern California area. Within the league, five fierce teams battle for dominance: The Fight Crew, The
Sirens, The Tough Cookies, The Varsity Brawlers and The Swarm. While their uniforms may be stylish and their names playful, do not be fooled by appearances  the L.A. Derby Dolls are real athletes who skate a sport that is pure, unscripted and real. Honored as a Treasure of L.A. by the Central City Association, the L.A.
