Red Hot and Blue
Burlesque. The sights, the sounds, the passion. A history of igniting the flames of desire. Using the music of Cole Porter as a backdrop, we will visit different eras, teasing out of them the unique styles and sounds that show our never ending fascination with passion, dance and music. Telling the story through live music, dance and spoken word we will travel the world and time as we move from traditional Turkish Can Can, through musical theater of the 20th century and into the contemporary burlesque of Madonna and Lady Gaga. Framed by live music from the Torch Song Ensemble, featuring Ukulele Dick and the incredible Mona Lott, this show is a 2 act presentation of some of the best talent Santa Cruz has to offer.
Performed at the Cypress Lounge in Santa Cruz, this will be dinner theater at is finest. From the fine fresh food of the Cypress chefs to the laughter, excitement and all the innuendo that made Cole Porter one of Americas foremost composers, we will make you forgot the troubles of the day. In the immortal words of Cole Porter: "Birds do it, bees do it,even "jumping" fleas do it.Let's do it!Let's go to the show!
