L.A. Derby Dolls' All-Stars in a brutal roller derby blowout
Los Angeles – Don't miss your last chance to catch the 2010 L.A. Ri-Ettes when they face off against Tucson Roller Derby's Iron Curtain. On Saturday, September 11 at the Doll Factory (Historic Filipinotown – 1910 W. Temple St. 90026), the L.A. Derby Dolls (www.derbydolls.com/la), Southern California's premiere women's banked track roller derby league, hosts a down and dirty derby battle between L.A.'s hometown heroes and Tucson's toughest traveling team (www.tucsonrollerderby.com).
The L.A. Ri-Ettes are made up of the best team skaters in the L.A. Derby Dolls. Crowd favorites like Gori Spelling, Amber Alert, Tara Armov, and Lace N' Arsenic join forces on an unstoppable roller derby roster (http://derbydolls.com/rosters/ri-ettes).
Tucson Roller Derby is an all-girl flat-track roller derby league, which has skated out of Tucson since late 2003. They are a proud and long-standing member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (www.wftda.com). Iron Curtain is Tucson's Cold War themed team of athletes.
Miss Derringer will sing the national anthem and perform at halftime and Kasey Bomber will DJ. L.A. Derby Dolls events offer a full range of entertainment off the track, with the Vendor Village featuring art, jewelry and clothes, food from Garage Pizza and Hot Dog on a Stick, and healthy beverages from Ex-Drinks, with beer from Tecate and wine from Murphy-Goode, poured strongly by Alex's Bar.
This event is 21+ and doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Door closes at the end of halftime. So please don't be late!
BRING YOUR ID CUZ YOU CAN'T GET IN IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT! ABSOLUTELY NO CAMERAS OR RECORDING DEVICES ALLOWED!
Parking is available for $8 at Silver Lake Medical Center, 1711 West Temple (near the intersection of Temple and Union), one block east of the Doll Factory. NO NEIGHBORHOOD PARKING IS ALLOWED.
Please note - Security will escort anyone with outside beverages out of the Doll Factory and you WILL NOT BE ALLOWED REENTRY! So buy your drinks inside the venue!
