EXIT Theatre operates five storefront theaters in downtown San Francisco that present a large variety of independent performance in a bohemian cabaret atmosphere.
Founded in 1983 EXIT Theatre also annually produces the San Francisco Fringe Festival, the largest grass roots theater festival in the Bay Area, and DIVAfest, dedicated to creating new work by women writers.

Does anyone ever see it coming? Marian packs a suitcase as if she were really going somewhereand maybe, just maybe she is. An old man, older than dirt, leafs through a box of crumbling photos while his daughter wields a mop in desperate combat with a gigantic thawing, dripping... well, youll just have to see it to find out what. Blonde Poison

Based on the true story of a Jewish woman during WWII who betrayed up to 3,000 fellow Jews, Blonde Poison explores the motivation of evil. Stella Goldschlag was living illegally in war-torn Berlin when she was betrayed and tortured. Offered the chance to save herself and her parents from the death camps, she agreed to work for the Gestapo and inform on Jews in hiding. She was given the name Blonde Poison by the Gestapo who reveled in her treachery. Decades after the war, she agrees to be interviewed by a journalist her last chance for redemption. Can she ever be released from her past?

It played to sold-out houses at the St. Marks Theatre in the East Village. hailed it as the most notably engrossing theatrical opening in recent memory.
