A MOVEMENT to make un-cool Dads cool and cool Dads even Cooler.
To encourage relationship building with Cool Dads and their kids. To Show that Dads deserve just as much love on Father's day, as mothers do on Mother's day. (if that's even possible)

Cool Dads Rock is a growing non-profit organization aimed towards building lasting and memorable relationships amongst fathers and their children. The mission of Cool Dads Rock is to strengthen relationships by creating environments where fathers and their children can bond through engaging educational and entertaining events.
One of the first projects for Cool Dads Rock was a playhouse build with Habitat for Humanity in 2012. The house was sold at auction and the pro-ceeds were donated to Habitat. Volunteers from all walks of life assisted in making the project successful. The team soon realized that this was the first of many great things to come.
Cool Dads Rock started as a vision of LaVerio Barnes. Barnes a.k.a. dj LV who has worked with artists such as Robin Thicke, Ne-Yo and Usher; in addition he has entertained guests at events for NASCAR, Conan O%u2019Brien and the NCAA Final Four just to name a few. However, his favorite %u201Cgig%u201D is as the father to a very active young boy. It was through his excitement and love for his son that he realized he wanted to do something to help ignite that same excitement in other men.
Barnes philanthropic passion comes from his grandmother, the late Mother Mary Ann Wright. Mother Wright was a world renowned humanitarian who started feeding the homeless in 1980 using her social security check. Today the Mary Ann Wright Foundation feeds up to 450 people per day in Oakland, California. Barnes serves on the Board for the foundation, and is encouraged by the service and opportunities the organization provides to the community. It was with the faith of his grandmother that he started Cool Dads Rock, with his own funds. Barnes goal is to make a similar impact on families and young people in Metro Atlanta through Cool Dads Rock.
Cheryl Hill, MBA, is Vice President heard Barnes%u2019 vision, and was eager to join Cool Dads Rock. Hill is a Senior Consultant with Draper and Associates and is passionate about helping others. She recently served on the Board for Senior Connections and Project Management Institute of Atlanta. Prior to joining Draper and Associates, Hill worked for agencies such as Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Wholistic Stress Control Institute and %u201CJust Say No%u201D International. In 2012 she competed in an Olympic Distance triathlon to raise thousands of dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She has created giving programs with NFL & NBA teams to homeless shel-ters, Mother-Daughter conference for families living in public housing, projects for Haiti, and is currently working with the Bahamas to fund projects for student athletes. Ms. Hill is excited to join Cool Dads Rock and fully supports the initiative.
In addition to Hill, Barnes has enlisted the help of others engaged in the community to help Cool Dads Rock grow into a vibrant organization. These individuals come from diverse backgrounds and philanthropic endeavors, but they are all committed to the goals of the organization.
