Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society

Calgary

Making Treaty 7 is a groundbreaking theatrical presentation that explores the historical significance of Treaty No. 7 signed at Blackfoot Crossing, Alberta in 1877, while investigating the consequences and implications of treaties 140 years later. This powerful multi-arts performance is relevant to people of all backgrounds and ages, and invites each of us to better understand one another.

Join us as a diverse and talented ensemble of Indigenous and non-Indigenous performers, musicians, dancers and poets breathe life into a story everyone should know.  This production is created specifically for junior and senior high school students of all cultures. It has been enjoyed by over 5,400 students, and educators in Southern Alberta and the content adapts to all the numbered treaties.
