BROKEN V - Pull the plug?
Beep -- Beep -- Bep -- Beep -- Beep -- -- Beep -- B    -- eep --   ep -- B  P -- BEE -- BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

"Code Team to Alchemy", "Code Team to Alchemy", the voice on the loudspeaker was clear, stringent, and as the team ran down Folsom they were, as a unit, thinking "Oh no, this could be the end".

Broken lay still on the bed, aware that something was wrong at it's heart, something possibly fatal.  It felt a sense of disconnection, an objectivity as it watched the proceedings, and as the team started their emergency procedures to rescue the bruised and beaten husk it thought to itself:  no, that's not my heart... that's not my heart... this could be the end.

The team was professional, hardened by years of service to other events, parties and venues past.  So many had passed and left only memories of good times, the echoes of laughter and screams, but the team remembered them and tried hard so this one wouldn't add to their number.  They were also old; had served long, and had seen too many parties die.  They liked this one, it too was old and it served the elders amongst them; they felt a kindred spirit and redoubled their efforts to revive it.

"I feel them trying", thought Broken as the team tried their tricks to breath life back into the old party.  It felt like a new date was being planned, December 5th, not a strong start, but a good sign nonetheless.   Now they were discussing the food and music Broken mused, feeling a little of it's old self return, but still, so weak.

They got the life support system in place.  Sure, there were organizational issues to attend to, dates, drinks, tickets, etc. but they pulled the tendrils of that party's life back from the brink with sheer willpower just as much as with any management tasks.   Now they could only finish writing up the invitation, hopefully with some lame-ass theme befitting the fragile state of a party that eschews theme, plug in the life support system and hope for success....

"Success", the thought flitted around it's brain, what is "success" for a party?   Broken didn't know.  Perhaps it was the gratitude of the people who did come, perhaps it was the financial well being of the team, or perhaps it was just the thrill of offering an alternative, especially one to a demographic to too often feels unwanted in a youth focused world.

Broken didn't know for sure.  But it knew that it's heart required more guests.  More folks to come and revel, to feel that generational camaraderie, that unity of spirit and perspective.  It new it needed more to survive the void and now it could only hope...

EEEEEEP  -- ep -- beep -- beep -- Beep -- Beep -- Beep -- Beep --

==============================================

Attendance at the first Broken party was good, about 70'ish.  New venue, new party, funny idea, Excellent.  Second party was smaller, 55-60, still fine!  Third ~35, still nice, but slowing down.  Fourth party was down to about 21 pre-paid tickets and (since it was so small), a few people came in at the door.

The party is on life support.  I'm happy to keep organizing and hosting it if people are coming and having a good time, but I need the numbers to be larger otherwise it's a financial cost, and more importantly a morale drain.

So, do we pull the plug after this party or not?  We'll decide based on the success of the party.  And, "success" is a tough thing to measure, but we know it when we feel it.

More information

The above is all in jest, we love Bent and the people who attend. This is just for people who are past the age range that Bent targets.

Contrary to the above, you don't have to be well versed in the ways of the BDSM-force to come to Broken. Newbies are welcome, and this is a fine "first party" for those who are just discovering BDSM.

If you are over 40 and your play partner is younger, you are welcome to bring them. However, just as with Bent, remember that (tongue back in cheek) the goal is to create a safe space for older people to express their sexuality without the judgement and outright lust so often directed towards us by the younger generation.

THERE WILL BE NO DM's. Behave yourselves. If there is a problem, find Torque and he will resolve it for you.

THERE WILL BE NO ALCOHOL. I know Alchemy permits it, however I do not.

THERE WILL BE SOME FOOD/MUNCHIES. We will have non alcoholic drinks and snacks. Donations of food and drink are welcome if you want to share something for the table, but it is not required.

Caveat:

So, please bear this in mind: nobody is bitter about Bent, or trying to one up it, or hurt it in any way. We're just bitter about aging. But, it happens, and while some of us lament that our bodies are no longer as attractive as we once were (and nobody has told our libidos) we're all coming to terms with it.

All the ideas, comments, etc. above are coming from a place of fun regardless of how they sound. In fact, sounding bitter about it is part of the fun! :-)

Side note for Littles < 40  with Daddys > 40:

So, if your Daddy is older than forty, and you are younger, the pair of you have to decide... Bent or Broken?  Clearly your *Daddy* wants to go to Bent!  More potential littles to meet, hotter bodies, better food, better outfits, entertainment, etc.   Clearly *you* want to go to Broken!  You'll be the focus of *much* more attention, and your Daddy will be focused on you as opposed to others, and you don't eat anything but cotton candy anyway!

So, Bent or Broken is a proxy for who has who wrapped around their big or little finger!   Discuss!   I say this merely to stir the pot!  :-)

I should also point out that I'm being intentionally crass in my BROKEN posts.
