Christmas in Niatirb
A play by Jeremy D. Stanbary Directed by Matthew Greseth
ABOUT THE PLAY
This world-premiere satire, based on a little-known essay by C.S. Lewis and influenced by the popular folktale The Christmas Guest, focuses on the Avarice family, who're getting ready to celebrate "Exmas" on the island of Niatirb (Britain spelled backwards). But when the Avarices becomes too caught up in all the holiday hubbub, their teenage daughter is forced to find a way to rediscover the real meaning of the season in order to save her family from certain disaster. This original Open Window Theatre production was written by artistic director Jeremy Stanbary, with an eye towards capturing the well-known wit and wisdom of Lewis.
