Magdalen Dinner
On Saturday, November 8, at 3 p.m. at the Grinton I. Will Library (1500 Central Park Avenue)in Yonkers, the American Irish Association of Westchester is presenting MAGDALEN, a historic play about the women who worked in Ireland's church-run laundries under extremely harsh conditions. MAGDALEN was written and is performed by Erin Layton, who mesmerizingly creates nine very different characters before the audience's eyes, telling a haunting story of who these women were, how they came to be at the laundries, and what became of them. The show is free, although a $10 donation will be gratefully accepted at the door to support the production.
These $38 tickets are for the dinner with Erin after the show. Our hosts at Heritage Restaurant are rolling out the Irish hospitality with a multi-course dinner with a choice of specially created entrees in a festive and comfortable space. And there will be ample opportunity to talk with Erin about the play and the history over dinner.
