Majestic Trees of the Pacific Northwest

Pacific Northwest forests have no equal on earth. Every genus of conifer here is the largest of its kind on the planet--Sitka Spruce, Western Red Cedar, and Western Hemlock--to name a few. This two-part series combines a classroom study with a field study of these majestic giants, covering key identifiers and physiology necessary to understand the unique role each species playsfrom our urban forest at Seward Park to the Alpine wilderness beyond. Guided by expert naturalist and backcountry guide Ed Dominguez, you will explore one of the largest swaths of old growth forest in SeattleSeward Park's Magnificent Forest.
