Focus Forum - Sex, Sexual Harassment and the Virginia fair Housing Office
Sexual harassment- in the form of sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, unwanted touching or comments- is against the law. The Virginia Fair Housing Office, proactive in keeping housing and shelter providers as well as the genenral public,well informed on the Virginia Fair housing law, is hosting several focus forums to enhance knowledge of individual protected classes.We extend this invitation to all housing and shelter providers and to the general public join us to learn of your rights and responsibilities. This 3 hour session will focus only on the protected class "Sex", that includes "sexual harassment".(Domestic Violence-alsoincluded under sex will have its own forum on another future date)
This class offers housing providers and their staff to obtain information based on the law, as to what is, and what behaviors are, and are not acceptable under the fair housing law. The after noon will include discussions on:
What is discrimination based on sex?
What else is considered discriminatory under the protected class "sex"?
What is sexual harassment?
