ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTOR: Hanan Rasheed
I came to the USA from Palestine in 1973. Coming to the US at a young age, I found adapting to the food here was very difficult and I couldn't enjoy or identify with any of it. Growing up in a household where my family loved to socialize over food - especially my mother's food which was made with love - it was a huge void in my life here with out my family. Since we didn't have Arabic food markets or restaurants, I had to start making my own. I made it my mission to learn how to cook and created my own recipes from memory modeled after my mother's cooking. I love to host people over food and tea, and I want to teach because I remember my struggles with learning how to cook 41 years ago! I personal chef for families, have taught classes at a cooking school in Danville, and do event planning for local organizations, which includes cooking my favorite dishes. Most importantly, I've been running my kitchen with love for 41 years and have five children and five grandchildren who enjoy my cooking and inspire me to continue creating!
