Camphill Communities California 'Gratitude Ticket' Workshop Fundraiser
Support Camphill California's new paper-making and felting workshops and existing weaving workshop by purchasing a Gratitude Ticket!!! Your purchase of a Camphill Gratitude Ticket will help us purchase the supplies we need to make these three workshops happen! Ala, who has years of experience with wet felting and paper-making, and second-year coworker, Noemi, will lead these new paper-making and felting programs respectively. The inspiration for these new workshops came when, Noemi and Ishi resident, Katie, visited the Heartbeet Lifesharing Camphill community in Hardwick, Vermont earlier this year. During their trip, they learned a dry felting technique. Paper-making and felting compliment all abilities and will be helpful in the winter months when less work is available in the horticulture workshops. In order to get this program started this year, we need your help to purchase all of the wool and paper-making tools!
In addition to beginning the new paper-making and felting workshop, the established weavery workshop also needs your help! Currently, the weavery contains a variety of looms but lacks a floor loom that everyone can use to create beautiful projects. The problem lies with the heavy floor treadles that take an unusual degree of lower body strength to manipulate. This new, smaller floor loom, contains lighter floor treadles, which will be a much better fit for all of the weavery participants. Our talented weavers are eager to get their hands (and feet!) on this new loom but need your financial support to make that possible.
Both workshops will foster and encourage creativity and artistic ability for each participant. Each workshop requires a multitude of skills that allow anyone to take part in the creative process.
