Dances by Isadora will offer rarely seen dances from the repertoire of Isadora Duncan in a program featuring all live music by concert pianist, Sarah Takagi. Founders Patricia Adams and Catherine Gallant join the next generation dancers Kelli Edwards, Sandra Zarotney Keldsen, and Irene Lutts in this special program.
Many of the Duncan works on the program are now celebrating 100 years since their creation. Dances range from the early studies to the music of Franz Schubert to Duncan's deep and fiery responses to the music of Alexander Scriabin.
This showing celebrates the 25th anniversary year for Dances by Isadora, incorporated in 1989 in Boston by Catherine Gallant and Patricia Adams.
This Dance Complex program will feature the stunning March Funebre, a dance performed all over the world by Patricia Adams, the "Many Faces of Love' series of waltzes to the music of Brahms and Duncan's last works to Scriabin etudes.....all played masterfully by concert pianist Sarah Takagi. Some contemporary surprises fill out the evening with works by choreographers Catherine Gallant and Kelli Edwards. The running time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and is appropriate for all audiences.
