CONNECT WITH A LEADER
- a joint venture with ForWARD and the Fellows Committee
An opportunity to meet with leaders in the architectural and related design industries. These intimate conversations are purposefully limited in size to allow for open dialogue regarding experiences, challenges and achievements. These casual mentoring groups are intent on sparking connections and relationships contributing to long term career benefits.

John Blumthal, FAIA, was a principal at Yost Grube Hall Architecture in Portland, Oregon, for eighteen years, where he led project teams serving higher education, research and healthcare clients until retiring in 2012. Prior to Joining YGH John worked at architectural firms ZGF and SOM, taught at Montana State University, had his own one-person firm for five years and also worked as a project manager for an office building developer. John is a past president of AIA Portland and AIA Oregon and is currently the president of Portland's Center for Architecture, established by the AIA to expand public understanding of how architecture and design influence our communities' quality of life. He is also a founding board member of Architects Without Borders Oregon. Johnis a LEED BD+C Accredited Professionaland holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Utah.
