Radio Mystery Drama
Ralph Swain's Great Southwest Radio Theatre Project (GSR) presents evening and matinee performances of live radio theatre mysteries. These plays are punctuated by the original commercial jingles sung on stage. Dramatic music and sound effects are delivered both digitally and by hand (Foley sound) before the live audience. GSR performances also entertain the audience with their own 1940s-style jazz singer, Bonnie Lee. Voice actors from around the Central Arizona Valley region will present a classic tale from the early CBS radio Escape series entitled "Shipment of Mute Fate"; an episode from the San Francisco-based female detective series Candy Matson entitled "The Devil in the Deep Freeze," and an original Arizona radio play entitled "The Red Ghost" written by GSR's own actor/writer Bill Alewyn. Non-alcoholic refreshments will be sold during the performance in the unique décor of the Western Room of the Western Trading Post in historic downtown Casa Grande, AZ on Friday July 25th at 7:00 pm and Saturday July 26th at 2:00 pm. Advance tickets are $8.00 for adults. Tickets at the door will be $10.00. Children 12 and under will be charged $5.00.
