Comedy poducer Monique Ranae hooks up with the Artiszen collective to bring you 'Off The Wall Comedy'. A series of shows bringing the industry's newest and funniest comedians from across the country right here to Vallejo once again!
CHRIS RIGGINS (HOST)
When it comes to being on the forefront of what is hip, fresh and respectable, no place can touch the San Francisco Bay Area. Every corner is exploding with amazing art and the artist themselves all have so much talent that it can be hard to stand out. Chris Riggins has taken the art of stand up comedy and chose to stand out amongst a sea of other talented artists. From producing unique shows such as the Outdoor Comedy Club, opening for Dave Chappelle his first time on stage, to featuring and headlining at major clubs and colleges throughout the United States, the sky is truly the limit for Chris. While a unique take on growing up in the Bay Area and finding humor in the struggle are the centerpiece of Chris' act, he is relatable to people from all walks of life. While many comics can make you laugh, few can make you reflect humorously on life experiences the way that Chris does. The Bay Area produces the greatest artists in the world and Chris solidifies that notion.
CODY WOODSCody Woods is one of the most hilarious and talented comedians rising today. While growing up idolizing comedians as a child he discovered he had a natural way of making everyone laugh early on. At the age of thirteen he was recommended to the local comedy club by a teacher despite being sent to detention by that teacher the same day. With his unique versatility on stage audiences are treated to a rare blend of extreme honesty, off the cuff wit, social commentary, animation with spot on impressions all while maintaining a laid back narrative. Now a young yet seasoned comic Cody can be seen featuring and headlining comedy clubs all over the United States. He has regularly worked with big names such as Tommy Davidson, Damon Wayans, Steve O., Robin Williams, Bobby Slayton, Bruce Bruce, Cocoa Brown, Wllie Barcena, Lynn Koplitz, Tom Segura, Will Durst, Tom Rhodes, Tom Papa, Todd Glass, David Spade, Kevin Farley, Pauly Shore, Charlie Murphy, and many more. At his beginning stages he was already a two time finalist in the Northern California Comedy Competition held at the world famous Improv Comedy Club at the age of eighteen and nineteen. He was featured on Roger Ebert's blog shortly after as well as online streaming giant, Hulu.com. In 2013 he was hand picked for the Comedy Central's Up Next National Competition and was also a semi finalist in the Shaq All Star Comedy Jam.
SHANTI CHARAN
Shanti Charan's bubbly personality and contagious smile lure in audiences and her comedic abilities keeps them laughing. She is a fast-rising fresh face in the Bay Area comedy scene. Her ability to formulate quick connections makes it easy for her to communicate with diverse audiences. She won 1st place in the 2011 Rooster T Feather's Comedy Competition and participated in the 2011 San Francisco International Comedy Competition where she advanced to the semi-finals. Charan was recently awarded SF Weekly's 2012 Best Stand-Up on the Way Up. SF Weekly says Charan's writing "is clever and confident beyond her years."
HANNIBAL THOMPSON
Hannibal Thompson is an accomplished standup comedian and actor who has been performing and studying acting, drama, sketch, and stand-up comedy since he was eight years old.
This rising young star is lighting up stages across the country and has worked with comedy heavyweights such as Mark Curry, Sinbad and Bill Bellamy. You may recognize him from leading roles in several recent independent films, or from his commercial work, which is airing nationwide.
