Good Friday/Holocaust Remembrance Service
Amazing Grace Spiritual Center in Seattle, Washington presents Guest Speakers Rabbi Ted Falcon and Pastor Pat Wright, and the music inspiration of the Total Experience Gospel Choir and world music performer Rafe Pearlman in two special services on Good Friday, April 18th, 2014.

This unique interfaith event brings together Jewish, Christian and New Thought teachers, musicians and congregations to sing, pray, and seek spiritual meaning in the Crucifixion and the Holocaust. All in attendance will have the opportunity to light Jewish Yahrzeit memorial candles for victims of religious persecution and oppression throughout history and today.

(Note that child care is not provided and, while the program may be appropriate for mature youth, it is would not be for children.)

Rabbi Ted Falcon is the Founding Rabbi of Makom Ohr Shalom, A Synagogue for Jewish Spirituality in Los Angeles (1978-1993) and of Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue in Seattle (1993-2009), and with Imam Jamal Rahman and Pastor Don Mackenzie, he is one of the Interfaith Amigos, and co-author of Religion Gone Astray: What We Found at the Heart of Interfaith (Skylight Paths, 2011).  He is a teacher of a Universal Spirituality and a spiritual therapist.

Pastor Pat Wright is a gospel musician and recording artist and former Pastor of the Oneness Christian Center (1997-2007). She founded the Total Experience Gospel Choir in 1973, and in its illustrious 40 year history, the choir has won over 150 awards, including the Gold Medal at the International Choir Festival in Sydney, Australia. Total Experience has performed with The Judds, The Winans, Take 6, Steely Dan, Pete Seeger, Heart, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. They have performed on 5 continents and in 28 countries. Pastor Pat was the Musical Director of Intiman Theater's productions of Black Nativity, which also featured the choir.

Rafe Pearlman was seen on "America's Got Talent" performing with William Close and the Earth Harp Collective. His global musical influences entertain audiences in theaters, churches, arenas and festivals around the world and his middle eastern/hindu/gospel vocal styling fits perfectly with interfaith religious events. His solo albums include "Dust & Gold", "Live at Church" and "In Moment". Rafe will also be featured in the concert "Rafe Pearlman and Friends: A Night With The Beloved", also at Amazing Grace Spiritual Center on Saturday, April 19th at 7:30pm.

Rev. Eric O'del and Rev. Colette Mercier are Co-Founding Ministers of Amazing Grace Spiritual Center, a member congregation of Centers for Spiritual Living. The community relocated from downtown Seattle to the Ballard neighborhood in 2013, renovating the infamous "Tricycle Church" at 20th and 61st NW. In its first year in the new location the congregation has established itself through its service activities to Nyer Urness House, and through unique community events such as a concert to benefit victims of Typhoon Hainan, a New Year's Day World Peace Meditation and Labyrinth Walk, and a Day of the Dead Dance.
