Drinking beer is easy. But pairing beer with the "right" food may seem daunting, or downright scary. Join Otehlia Cassidy as she leads you on a beer and food pairing tour in the scenic Atwood neighborhood on Madison's eastside. Impress your friends and your taste buds by learning about more sophisticated pairings from local experts.The 1-mile, 3-hour walking tour includes:
*Four tasty stops including a taproom, 2 local breweries and a chocolatier
*2-3 delicious local craft beer tastings at each stop

Details:
Start the evening at The Alchemy Cafe where Justin Schmitz, co-owner of Hop Head Beer Tours, gives us a taste of a few of his favorite local beers paired with Chef Dan Zaremba's great eats. From there we'll head to One Barrel Brewing where owner Peter Gentry will share his beer and food pairing wisdom, as well as the inside scoop on One Barrel. Next Door Brewing is just a few blocks down Atwood Ave, where the brewmaster and chef will give us samples of their house-made beer and delicious food pairings. They are known for using the by-products of the brewing process in their menu! Finally we'll head to Gail Ambrosius Chocolatier for a teaser of her popular beer and chocolate pairing course. Chocolate is food, too, you know.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to meet the brewmasters, artisan producers, owners, chefs and new friends at your local neighborhood eateries and breweries. If nothing else it's a great excuse to get out of the house!
NOTE: May 6th Tour in conjunction with Craft Beer Week is an abbreviated tour with tastings at One Barrel and Next Door, and Pairings at Alchemy and Gail Ambrosius. Cost is $50.
