Folk Bound - Presented by Duplicity Ensemble
Chicago Reader Recommended! "Using choreographed movement, scraps of song, and homemade effects, director Nathan Wonder and the cast of this inaugural offering from Duplicity Ensemble deftly balance whimsy and melancholy without ever tipping too far in either direction." - Zac Thompson
Chicago Theater Beat: "There's much talent on display here from this brand new company and a cast that has not yet been seen a lot on Chicago stages. It's likely we'll see good things from them all in the coming years. That the Chicago theater scene has this sort of sustained vitality may just be the main takeaway from this play about re-birth and growth." - John Olson

A new play with music and dance conceived and directed by Nathan Wonder, Folk Bound explores what it means to be home.
Trekking through a world made up of folk stories -- and spurred on by a telegram delivered by birds -- Lucy senses that something's wrong and sets out to return to her mother and the house she left behind many years ago. She soon discovers that things are far worse than she imagined in this world-premiere play by Anne Walaszek. With choreography by Annaleah Tubbin and original music by up-and-coming Chicago folk artist Pamela Maurer (aka Baby Money), Folk Bound is a play with music and dancing about a young woman's quest for home.
Folk Bound is Duplicity Ensemble's inaugural production.
