CONCERT NO. 3 of the AMBIcon 2013 CONFERENCE
Two solo performances:
MICUS--refined contemplative acoustic music from exotic instruments;
ROACH--extended electro-acoustic journeys in the sound current
STEPHAN MICUS is a German musician and composer whose musical style is heavily influenced by his study of traditional instruments and musical techniques from Japan, India, Asia, South America, and dozens of ethnic cultures around the world. With one exception, on over 25 albums to date he plays all of the instruments on his recordings, using the instruments in non-traditional and unprecedented ways. He often employs many layers of a single instrument to create unusual textures and harmonies. While he has performed hundreds of solo concerts over the last 30 years throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, this will be just his third appearance in the U.S.

STEVE ROACH has gained international renown as a pioneering cornerstone of ambient-atmospheric-electronic music. Roach has earned his position in the international pantheon of major new music artists through almost 100 groundbreaking recordings and collaborations, fueled by his prolific nature and uncompromising approach. The core of this innovative world of sound has been nourished by years of live concerts in many extraordinary worldwide settings, further enhancing the emotive, cinematic soul-stirring depth of his music. This will be his first live performance after three years of intense studio work.
