A Bright Room Called Day
Tony Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day follows a group of friends gathered in the Berlin apartment of Agnes Eggling as they navigate the Weimar Republic's dissolution and the Nazi party's meteoric rise from 1932-33. The Berlin timescape is periodically interrupted by Zillah, a woman living in Reagan-era New York.
Under the direction of Susan Hardie, this staged reading will feature the talents of Pam Kingsley, Jamie Flanery, Diana Trotter, Ricardo Ibarra-Rivera, Chris Jensen, Jennie Oliver, Brooklyn Robinson, Eli Drushella, Toni Cummins, Wes Deitrick, and Melody Deatherage. The reading will take place at the Buddhio, a gorgeous performance space at South Perry Yoga (915 S. Perry), on Friday August 25 and Saturday August 26 at 7:30 pm.
Tickets are $10, with proceeds benefiting Odyssey Youth Movement, a youth-led, adult-supported organization committed to creating, sustaining, and advocating for safe and affirming programs, policies, and services for Spokane's LGBTQ youth community.
