The One Woman No Show
Liz Andersons The One Woman No Show will be returning to The Crowd Theater for its highly anticipated third run. OWNS is a cold-read solo or duo play featuring a brand new actor every performance. During each performance of the One Woman No Show a different performer and play is featured, with each piece being revealed to the actor at the perfect moment: that night, lights up, in front of an audience. Actors will cold-read selections from a show written especially for them, featuring monologues, audience interaction, charity challenges, pantomime, and improvisation. Past shows have featured plays with titles like "Captain Tibbet and the Sea, That Destroyer," "Unicorn High School," and "Improvised Grizzly Man." Past performers have included SNL Writer Katie Rich, former Second City performer and teacher John Hildreth, and Second City Mainstage performer and BET writer Shantira Jackson. The One Woman No Show will host its third season on Mondays in July at 8PM at The Crowd Theater in historic Buena Park. The current performer lineup is as follows: July 3 One Woman No Show: The Play featuring Brianne Fitzpatrick (Performer, iO Chicago, ComedySportz Chicago), Ben Larrison (Performer, iO Chicago, #SquirrelTruth), Bethany Remely (Performer, iO Chicago, ComedySportz Chicago), Lizzie Daniels (Performer, iO Chicago) July 10 Sarah Shockey (Performer, Podcaster and Cartoonist: iO Chicago, The Shock-Ts, Marty and Sarah Love Wrestling) July 17 Becca Brown (Actor and Comedian School of Rock, Jenna Roxy and the Church of Modern Love) July 24 Colt Cabana (Professional Wrestler, Comedian) The actors in this production of The One Woman No Show are of a variety of ages, genders, performing styles, and experience levels. We cannot emphasize enough how little the performers know what is going to happen to them--no one knows what will come next!
