Morro Bay Kayaking Trip
Join the Sierra Club Santa Lucia Chapter on a kayaking adventure through Morro Bay. View the harbor seals, heron rookery, sea otters and other marine animals. Explore the sand dunes and Chumash shell middens. Enjoy a talk on the natural and cultural heritage of the Central Coast and learn about the proposed Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary.
Tickets are $55. That includes naturalist guide, kayak rental, snacks and water. Advance reservations required. Meet at the Kayak Shack, State Park Marina, 10 State Park Road, Morro Bay, CA. at 8:30 am on June 4th. The kayaking trip will start at 9:00 am and end at 12:30 pm.
This kayaking trip requires no previous experience in a kayak. Total paddle time is about 2 hours. Morro Bay has tame waters and is the perfect destination for individuals with little to no kayaking experience. The climate along the coast in Morro Bay is temperate year round, so be sure to bring multiple layers as temperatures may fluctuate. Bring comfortable clothes, no flip-flops. Tennis shoes, water shoes or open toed sandals are acceptable. We will have water available, but it is also highly recommended to bring your own water. Life jackets and dry bags will be provided.
