Seis de Mayo Guac Off and Curated Beer Pairing
We cant think of a better pairing on a warm Florida day than a chilled cerveza, salty tortilla chips, and a creamy guacamole. And truthfully, nothing quite says Cinco de Mayo better than beer and guac!
In the Loop Brewing is on the hunt for the best guacamole in Tampa Bay. If you are interested in participating please email heather@intheloopbrewingcompany.com for more details.
Official Rules:
1.The competition will be limited to 12 entries based on a first-come first-served principle.
2. Each guacamole recipe will be eligible for Best in Show, Runner-Up and Most Creative and will be judged based on flavor, texture, and aroma.
3.The 12 participants are not eligible to vote, but will receive free entry to the curated Seis de Mayo beer pairing and two free draft beer coupons to use on a future visit.
4.Guacamole is loosely defined as a Mexican or South American salad containing avocado. It is derived from the Nahuatl ahuaca-molli meaning avocado sauce. Many versions contain tomatoes, chopped onions, seasoning, and chili peppers. Your guacamole recipe MUST contain avocado.
5.Each contestant must provide at least one quart of guacamole (about 4 cups) one hour prior to the competition (drop off time is no later than 1:00pm). All serving utensils will be provided by the brewery. In addition, all tortilla chips will be provided as well.
6.The Seis de Mayo Guac Off Competition and Curated Beer Pairing is a ticketed event and must be purchased in advance (again all competitors will receive free entry to the beer pairing minus the guacamole voting ballot). All other ticketed participants will receive a ballot for voting and will be allowed one vote for Best in Show Guac and Most Creative Guac. Judging will be blind meaning no one will know the identity of the chef for each guacamole entry.
7.The Best in Show, Runner Up and Most Creative Guac winners will receive In the Loop swag and of course bragging rights!
How do you get to sample all of these delicious recipes and try a diverse selection of curated craft cervezas? Tickets to the Seis de Mayo Guac Off and Curated Mexican Themed Beer Pairing are $30 and will include a sample logo tasting glass, eight 4oz pours of our Cinco de Mayo draft beer line-up and unlimited guacamole plus a voting ballot to crown the Best in Show and Most Creative Guac. All 12 guacamole competitors will receive free entry to the curated beer pairing and sample logo tasting glass. Stay tuned for more info on the Cinco de Mayo tap list! Well also be serving up cheladas with a salted rim, lime juice, and a Mexican style lager for a super refreshing treat. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance.
