Earth Day Shinrin-Yoku Walk
A gentle guided walk focusing on embodiment, connecting to the senses, direct contact with the other than human world and enjoying the health benefits of spending time in nature. The walk covers no more than a 1/4 mile and is suitable for anyone who can walk easily over occasionally uneven terrain. The walk will close with a tea ceremony and gratitude for Earth!
This walk is for you if:
You are looking for a meaningful way of celebrating Earth Day You love nature and want to carve out time for greater connection You want to see a beloved local park with fresh eyes You want to experience the stress relieving benefits of spending time in nature You've been wanting to experience a shirin-yoku walk (in Japanese it means literally "forest bathing") You can walk easily over occasionally uneven, but mostly flat terrain
The walk will be guided by Nicole Daspit, an ANFT certified forest therapy guide, currently working as a guide, mentor and trainer in Sonoma County and beyond.
Bring: hat, sunscreen, bottled water, snacks, mat or blanket to sit on and a journal if you like
Meeting place: Picnic area near playground, closest to oak meadow
