Celebrate Herb Day with Dr. Lorinda Sorensen
Join us on Saturday, May 6, 2017, 11 am-2 pm, for the 12th annual National Herb Day celebration. Naturopathic doctor and licensed acupuncturist Dr. Lorinda Sorensen will be available for a meet and greet, and to discuss the many benefits of herbal medicine.
At 12:30 Dr. Sorensen will be giving a presentation on Using Culinary Foods and Herbs for Health (registration required, seating is limited). Learn the healing benefits of culinary herbs sage, rosemary, thyme, basil (including holy basil), dill and the 2017 herb of the year, cilantro/coriander. Registered attendees will get to experience various dishes, teas, and essential oils, plus receive a free herb seedling (while supplies last!).
Dr. Lorinda Sorensen teaches Herbal Medicine at National University of Health Sciences, where she is an assistant professor and also teaches classes in naturopathic philosophy, endocrinology, and womens health.She has been a member and currently serves on the board of the Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians (ILANP.org). In addition, she was a founding director of the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is a member of the American Herbalist Guild, United Plant Savers, and the Illinois Mycological Association.
