H.O.S.T. House Comedy Night starring Rocky LaPorte and Emily Epstein White
From NBCs Last Comic Standing, Chicago comedian Rocky LaPorte is slated to bring his everyman, streetwise style of comedy to the 3rd installment of Host House Comedy Night.  The star of the Showtime comedy special The Godfathers of Comedy, delivers laughs in his trademark Brooklyn accent and has become one of the most sought after comedians in the country.

A former Chicago truck driver and dockworker, Rocky has accumulated a slew of performances throughout his career. On the big screen, he can be seen in his second movie with Tim Allen called Crazy on the Outside.

He has also traveled with Drew Carey to Iraq to entertain the troops and was seen on the ShowTime special Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie. Rocky has filmed his own Comedy Central Presents special and in a nationwide poll was voted Comedy Centrals second most popular comedian.

He has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and had appearances on A&Es Evening At The Improv and VH-1s Stand-Up Spotlight, and sitcom appearances on Cheers and his own NBC pilot called the Rocky LaPorte Show. Rockys clean, blue-collar style of comedy continues to increase in popularity as he travels the country.

Rocky has opened for Louie Anderson, Garry Shandling, Drew Carey, Tim Allen, Hootie and the Blowfish and the Righteous Brothers just to name a few. He has done charity work for St Jude's Children and NFL Charities as well as homeless shelters, cancer research projects and police and fire departments across the country.

With a busy schedule touring major cities, Rocky has become a favorite nationwide. He has become one of the most sought after comedians in the country. His clean observations and take on life have made him a favorite in all the top comedy clubs, corporate events and television shows. Rocky's likeability and every-man style gives him an unparalleled universal appeal that any audience can enjoy and relate to.

Reviews:

Yo!  Listen up.  There may be more intellectual comics working today, but few are funnier than Rocky LaPorte.  His observations about daily life make shopping in a supermarket hilarious.  And theres a plus:  Nobody in show business is nicer.

Chicago Sun Times

One comic insider called him a sitcom just waiting to happen, and cohorts in the competitive stand-up world have actually said nice things about him.  Comedian Rocky LaPorte has a lot going for him -- handsome dark looks and howlingly funny tales of growing up in Brooklyn. He weaves well-paced tales with rewarding punch limes.  His ability to free-form it at times is another big plus.  The talent (and character) is there for potential picking by the star-makers of Tinsel Town.

Las Vegas Review-Journal

Go ahead, Rocky, raise your hands over your head and take a victory lap around the ring.  Youve earned it. This Brooklyn-born comic showed in his 45-minute set that he has moved to the next level.  His observations are becoming sharper, more universal.  You could almost call him sly. With his delivery steeped in heavy, slow Brooklyn-ese, LaPorte comes across as a lovable lunk with a casual, relaxed delivery and a penchant for callbacks.  LaPortes performance was years head of his old game, with more polish, better material and well placed chestnuts, including his classic run-in with a sea gull with an attitude.  The thing flipped me the wing.

About Comedy and Red Dragonfly Productions:

Who doesn't need a good laugh nowadays?  Sure, we can always seek out our local comedy club to catch the latest up-and-coming comic amidst the two-drink minimum charges and suggestive material.  But, there is a new trend in comedy.  Featured standup comedy evenings are becoming a welcome addition to fundraising efforts by non-profit organizations.

You can buy cookie dough at your kids schools, you can buy Christmas wrapping paper from the PTA, you can even buy all the Girl Scout cookies you want.  But, many are looking at a comedy show as a new and fresh way to raise money for a good cause.

Red Dragonfly Productions has a handle on this trend, and focuses on booking comics with smart material for thinking adults who enjoy a night out and like that feeling you get when youve done a good deed in your community.

With a lineup of fresh, insightful, and funny comics known for their well crafted material and relatable humor, these comedy benefit shows are for audiences who appreciate the art of comedy.
