The Jason Spooner Trio brings together the talents of Jason Spooner on lead vocals and guitar, Adam Frederick on bass and vocals and Reed Chambers on drums. The Trio's unique blend of roots, blues, funk and folk has earned them accolades across the country and skyrocketing popularity. The band's website, www.jasonspooner.com, provides additional background on their award-winning sound. The New Rangers, a long-time favorite of DRA's summer music festivals, will open for The Spooner Trio.
Maine's own David Mallett is a folk icon of world renown. In addition to being featured on his fourteen albums, Mallett's pen has provided material for an eclectic list of artists that includes Pete Seeger, Alison Kraus, Emmylou Harris, Kathy Mattea, John Denver and the Muppets. His tune, The Garden Song, is one of America's most popular folk songs, having been recorded more than 150 times and sung around the globe. He has toured consistently in folk clubs, concert halls and festivals for thirty years. Opening for Mallett is special guest Anna & The Diggs, former lead singer of last year's DRA festival-favorite Gypsy Tailwind.
The Boneheads are based in southern Maine and feature Portland's premiere session players and former members of many of Maine's finest acts. The Boneheads are a thoroughly danceable, dynamic, fun and talented Rock 'n Roll band in the purest sense. Real instruments played with real feelings; real music. They have a full complement of original material in addition to an extensive playlist of covers. Their music is described as rootsy, all-American. It rocks and it's acoustic. A band of honest musicians doing what they love. With special guest and opener Bruce Hardina, back by popular demand.
