**Note: The Wildflower Sunset hike is currently sold out. If you are interested in being placed on a waiting list, please email melissa.kelley@sonoma-county.org with your name, number of tickets requested, your email address and your phone number. Thank you!**
The Wildflower Sunset Hike celebrates the impending opening of Tolay Lake Regional Park with a docent-led 4-mile hike on the West Ridge Trail at Tolay Park. Guests will enjoy knowledgeable explanations about the local wildflowers, which are particularly spectacular this year after our extensive winter rains.
At the end of the hike, guests will enjoy appetizers and premium wines poured by the Petaluma GAP Winegrowers Alliance as they admire the sunset over the Petaluma River Valley. A hay wagon will take guests back to the parking area.
Regional Parks Supervising Ranger Brandon Bredo and Sonoma Land Trust Stewardship Director Bob Neale will join us on the hike, bringing their intimate knowledge of the land, wildflowers, and park history to share.
Details: -- Hiking apparel and sturdy shoes or boots required -- Adults only -- Bring a daypack, water and snack if desired
Space is limited; early registration is encouraged.
The hike is easy to moderate, largely flat with rolling hills along the ridgeline.
Proceeds will benefit the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation and Tolay Lake Regional Park.
Note: As May 7 approaches, the Parks Foundation and Regional Parks will determine if weather and terrain conditions are suitable for the hike. If cancelled due to inclement weather, registration fees will be fully refunded.
