Cuban Dance Workshops with Luis Yoel Samada "El Choco"
Cubasere welcomes Luis Yoel Samada, better known as El Choco, one of the most talented dancers coming out of Cuba of the moment. El Choco grew up dancing in the neighborhood of Marianao, Havana Cuba. At age 19, he began dancing professionally and training with such dance companies as Aláfia and Compañía Ban Rarrá. Aside from being a soloist dancer at Ban Rarrá, he has been an instructor at the Baila en Cuba Festival of Havana. Samada has performed and taught internationally and has also been featured as a dancer in various music videos such as Haila Mompies No Te Toca and Pupys La Conga Pelotera. Cubasere is beyond thrilled to host Samada for his first ever classes available in the U.S.
12pm-1pm : AFRO-CUBAN & RUMBA Technique & Styling
Learn the basic movements and variations of various Afro-Cuban dances including Palo & Macuta and the ever-popular Rumba from this master of Afro-Cuban folkloric dance.
1:10pm-2:10 : TRAPTON The latest in Cuban Street Dance
Cuban popular dance is constantly evolving Son grew into Casino/Salsa. From Casino then came its more contemporary and multi-faceted Timba influences. Over recent years Reggaeton/Cubaton has been what Cuba's popular dance is rooted in. What is the newest evolution happening at this very moment Trapton. the newest influence on Cuban street dancing with music based in Reggaeton and Cubaton with influences of Trap music dont miss this party of a dance class!
2:20-3:20 : CASINO FUSION (Intermediate/Advanced)
This class is for students that already have a solid base of Cuban Salsa/Casino. Students will learn the newest fusion of influences and techniques to help add that ever-coveted flavor, complexity and fun to their social dancing.
