LOBBY/BAR OPENS AT 7PM. SHOW BEGINS AT 7:30PM.
A talented collection of actors have prepared selections from great American speeches that highlight what's truly special about our country: everything from immigration and innovation to the right to protest. You'll hear the words of everyone from Margaret Sanger to JFK to Barbara Jordan to Edward R. Murrow. The event is a protest of the incoming administration, but it's also meant to be a celebration of our community and our collective history, a reminder that organized resistance and eloquent arguments have changed this nation for the better.
ALL PROCEEDS FROM TICKET SALES AND REFRESHMENTS WILL BE DONATED TO THE SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER.
There will be a bar open before and after the event as well. Please stay and talk with the actors and each other. Who knows what event could be born from one of those conversations?
CAN'T MAKE IT? You can still donate to the SPLC here (https://donate.splcenter.org/splcdonate). Please do! They do incredible work in monitoring and fighting hate groups and battling civil rights abuses. If you do donate, email us at UsingTheirWords2017@gmail.com to tell us about it -- we'd love to track the donations!
