Z -- SCREENING 9. Bronx World Film Cycle 2016.
Black (SCR/DIR Tomasz Popakul, POLAND, 2016, color, 14:00.) A pair of astronauts are trapped on an orbital space station because of a nuclear war that erupted unexpectedly on Earth. They lost contact with Earth and all attempts to communicate with their base or anybody else have failed. All they can do now is watch nuclear explosions taking place on the surface of the Earth and try to survive together somehow...
Centaur (DIR/SCR Aleksandra Niemczyk, BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA/POLAND/NORWAY, 2016, color, 43:00.) Polio has partially parayzed Vlado. His tender, loving younger wife, Alma, helps him in all his daily activities, hopeful that he will heal, yet Vlado rejects her out of his own self-loathing. A half-man/half-horse haunts Almas thoughts. The Centaur then appears in a dream, and by dawn, he has worked his magic. (In Bosnian, with English subtitles. New York City premiere)
