LFW OAKtoberfest
For the first time in LFWs history, this months outing will focus on Americas most popular fermented beverage: BEER. On the second weekend of Munichs famous Oktoberfest celebration, were hosting our own homage to the Rheinheitsgebot, Germanys beer purity law of 1516, considered to be the very first consumer protection decree. As you may know, our Cellarmaster, Rod Santos manages the North Coast for Drakes Brewing Company, a pioneer in the Bay Area microbrewing scene since 1989. Last fall, the brewery opened its first restaurant in uptown Oakland, appropriately named Drakes Dealership, based on its history as a Dodge parts and service facility.
On Sunday the 25th, well gather in their private dining room, where Rod will lead us in a tutored tasting of various beer styles, followed by lunch.
