Kim John Payne Lecture on the Soul of Discipline
Best selling author and educator Kim John Payne will present a lecture on "The Soul of Discipline", the Simplicity Parenting approach to warm, firm, calm guidance from toddlers to teens. Aimed at parents and educators, this event will address the parenting and teaching challenges that occur naturally as part of child development and how it is possible to anticipate these difficulties and ways to prepare for them in advance.
For discipline to be effective it must always begin with preventive discipline. This presentation will provide a developmental roadmap to help parents and educators establish the kind of discipline that is both nurturing and effective.

Kim John Payne, M.Ed., has been a family and school counselor, adult educator, consultant, and researcher for 27 years. In addition to authoring Simplicity Parenting, he regularly gives keynote addresses at international conferences for educators, parents, and therapists and runs workshops and trainings around the world. In each role, he helps children, adolescents, and families navigate such challenges as social difficulties with siblings and classmates; attention and behavioral issues at home and school; emotional issues such as defiance, aggression, addiction, and self-esteem; and living a balanced simple life in an unbalanced, complex world. He is based in Northampton, Massachusetts.
