Rich Marotta, the Comedian Who Does Magic returns to Parlor of Mystery by popular demand. He is a nationally known headlining comedian who just so happens to do mind-blowing magic that keeps audiences scratching their heads while they laugh themselves silly. Rich has appeared on numerous television shows, lectured on magic to magicians in all 50 states and over 20 countries. You can find his comedy and magic effects for sale in every magic shop in the country, the good ones, that is.
The comedy juggling team of Grins & Grins are two of a kind. Their fast-paced act incorporates magic, ventriloquism, whip-cracking, "daring" feats of balance, circus skills and more into an act that is different from every other juggling act. With more than 20 years of performing experience, Ray will show off incredible circus skills while trying to manage actress and comedienne, Erins monkeyshines. Together, they produce a maximum of madcap mayhem, that will produce grins and grins and grins. Erin and Ray have traveled the world performing individually and as a team. Currently they are appearing on Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines.
The comedy and magic does not stop during intermission when funny man and close-up magician Jeff Miller holds court in the lobby. Jeff has wowed Parlor audiences during intermission in the past and like Rich Marotta is back to do it again. He's fast, he funny and he's frugal. (Of course, his spending habits have nothing to do with his magic, the sentence structure just required another F word.)
The show will be hosted by Mike Maione just back from lecturing on the deceptive art to magicians at The Magic Circle in London. Mike is Long Island's silliest magician, just ask any 5-year old, and is best known for family-friendly entertainment. He is the shows producer and one of the originators of the Parlor of Mystery. At the Parlor his magic has a decidedly more grown-up flavor.
The Parlor of Mystery is a monthly parlor magic show where magic is performed that does not require expensive, large-scale stage equipment. It is magic performed close to the audience and without a stage. The setting and the magic are intimate. And all shows are modern, funny, grown-up and for grown-up audiences.
The Parlor of Mysterys home is the South Shore Theatre Experience in Lindenhurst. Its the perfect place to experience parlor and close-up magic. It is small black box theatre with comfortable tiered seating for 45. The Parlor of Mystery is one of many productions that take place at the South Shore Theatre Experience, which is located at 315 West Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst. The South Shore Theatre Experience is a non- profit organization that produces original works and theatre classics as well as conducting acting classes & workshops.
Parlor of Mystery shows take place on the fourth Sunday of every month with different magicians performing different effects.
